New York City is known for it’s tall buildings and attractive structures. There are so many other awesome New York city attractions for families. Here are the list that you must visit with your loved ones.

This building was built in just 13 months which incredible. There are a lot of beautiful buildings in New York but this is one of the best looking skyscraper of the world. This building is in the middle of Manhattan. You can visit in day light for the wonderful views of the buildings and after dark if you wish to get mesmerized by the city lights.

There’s so much history in that building. Just the amount of detail that went into the building and being inside feels like another world. Their lift is super fast and covers 86 floors in seconds. Great view of the skyscraper buildings. Very convenient with kids as well. Securities are super friendly. The sheer architectural magnificence of this building is jaw-dropping. It is probably the most iconic building in the world.

You have to pay about $40 to go to the observation deck.

This is one of the fun things to do in New York city with families. This is close to the heart of Times Square. You are definitely going to enjoy it. Lots of interesting celebrities on display along with famous historical figures. here’s a great variety of historical figures, celebrities, and superheroes, from George Washington to Taylor Swift to The Incredible Hulk and the beautiful Lady Gaga. You can take selfie with Mr Donald Trump in the white house. Each figure is incredibly detailed and lifelike.

You can purchase the tickets online, which is cheaper than at the counter. It will be a great fun. You can take pictures hugging your favorite actors, getting in action scenes, and sitting in the white house!

There are other activities like avengers 4D and a zombie experience, which you have to pay extra.

3. 9/11 Memorial And museum

This is the place to pay homage.  This is amazing, Emotional, breath taking and absolutely put together beautifully. The quite memorial rooms are heart wrenching. You should visit this place if you ever come to New York. Everyone should do this at least once and visit the final resting place for over 1,900 people and embrace the over 13,000 that survived. All the names of the people who passed away that day are carved on the marble around of each fountain. You can leave a flower on the names.

You can roam around and explore shopping center just next to it and do fancy brand shopping if you are interested. Good place to seat, big fountain, garden. The shopping complex next to it is nicely designed. A must visit place with family.

4. Statue of Liberty

The Statue of Liberty Enlightening the World was a gift of friendship from the people of France to the people of the United States. It is  a universal symbol of freedom and democracy. There is no symbol to the world that symbolizes freedom more than the Statue of Liberty. The Statue of Liberty was dedicated on October 28, 1886. It was designated as a National Monument in 1924.

You can take the Liberty Landing Ferry from World Financial Center Terminal to Liberty Landing Marina. You can make reservations to go to the crown about 3 months ahead of your visit. It does cost $14.00 more per person but it will be worth being able to climb to the pedestal of the statue. It is about 360 steps to the top. There are many places to step off and rest, if needed. There are free lockers to store your backpacks or purses as only cameras and cell phones are allowed.

New Museum on Liberty Island is beautiful and has lots of information about the Statue of Liberty.

5. Circle Line Sightseeing Cruises

This is one of the best New York City Attractions For Families. It will be really fun with groups or family. It circles around the entire island allowing you to see the Manhattan skyline from every side. Amazing views of all of lower Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty.

Every boat has a bar so you can sit on deck and enjoy a beer too. The guide will be providing a superb commentary over the PA which isn’t too loud and compliments the sights perfectly. It is a Fantastic 2 hour tour on an open-top boat or inside the cruise enjoying your favorite bear.

You can see sitting on the deck Manhattan especially statue of liberty, world trade center, historic buildings, municipality building, empire state building, brooklyn bridge, UN headquarters etc.

6. Central Park New York

This is another recommended New York City Attractions For Families. It is very large and  vast park. There are plenty of things to do and see and get into plenty of sections. This is a nice place for  a picnic. and to take photos. It is a very nice park to have a break from the chaos in the city

Cycles are also available for rent close by which is a nice add one. You can cycling the park from one end to the other for mere $3 which is cheap according to me.

There are large number of food carts inside to grab a quick bite or re-hydrate yourself. Since food is allowed inside it is best to bring your own snacks and drinks. There is no fee for entry and the lawns are also great where you can sit and enjoy.

8. Bronx Zoo

With 265 acres of wildlife habitats and attractions, the Bronx Zoo is one one of the largest zoos in the United States by area. On average, the zoo has 2.15 million visitors each year. All around great place for children in terms of entertainment and education. Easy to navigate with a stroller. Food option is not that best and also very expensive, so bring your own healthy snacks if you want them.

The Bronx zoom is really a great zoo with lots of attractions. It is really big. There is something for everyone and it is great for a family visit. You can never leave without seeing the giraffes, the bison, peacocks, sea lion etc. The dinosaur ride is simply amazing.

As i said this Place is huge, so  make sure you look at the map before you go in and select what areas you want to go. Otherwise you will waste a lot of time trying to find out what you want to do and where you want to go.

Free entrance on Wednesday.

9. New York Botanical Garden

This is one of the best place to go with the kids and enjoy it. All the constructions are fabulous and the garden is great as well. Holiday Train and Lights show are awesome.The NYBG is probably best known for its Holiday Train Show exhibition. Any Botanical Gardens are wonderful any time of the year. The plants and trees are beautiful, the exhibits are great.

This botanical garden is really big. The grounds are very expansive and probably too large to visit only on foot if you have young children or others with limited mobility. However they have tram which is free with admission and runs frequently in a loop around the garden.

NYBG is a great place to wander around, there is so much to learn and take in the many vistas and manicured landscapes as well as discover much from guides and plaques. Thomas the Tank Engine show is good and very appropriate for young children.

10. Brooklyn Botanic Garden

This is another botanical garden in NYC. This garden has lovely paved paths make for easy walking or rolling along in a chair. This is a beautiful garden. Highlights during the year are:

  • The Cherry Blossom festival in the spring–the Garden will be loud and crowded.
  • The Chile Pepper festival in the fall that is good.
  • Don’t miss the plant sale, if you need a plant in early May, which generally occurs the week before Mother’s Day.

When it gets freezing, re-connect with life and nature in the amazing indoor botanical beautifully maintained areas with a great assortment of flora. There are six flower collections, thirteen gardens, and a conservatory with multiple environments to explore.

11. Chelsea Piers

This is a great place to enjoy and spending time with friends or family for the day. You can pick up bikes a couple blocks from there under the skyline. It is really a fun place. The batting cages are awesome with different levels of challenges depending on your skills. There is a golf club which is  very attractive, simulating a golf club with practice putting green and driving range which overlooks the water. It is fun place for the entire family or any serious golfer as well.

There are around 25 different sports offered here. Great entertainment whether it’s bowling, golfing, or any of it. They also have gymnastics, soccer, basketball, batting cages, indoor play space and a lot more. There are open court hours for $10/hour. It is very good for the family and also great for keeping fit and healthy. All the Staffs are super friendly and professional.

12. SeaGlass Carousel

Sea Glass Carousel is pure magic, aquarium–themed carousel like no other. A truly unique experience. It is an immersive experience of movement, music, and light. This is a unique concept for a carousel. It is a magical ride in sea creatures. All the sea creature look like they are made from sea glass. It would be more beautiful at night because of lights.

The entire carousel is encased in glass so you feel like you’re in a fish bowl. I am sure, it will make you feel like a kid again and will put a smile on your face. Each ride lasts for the length of a song. This is a lovely thing to do with your little ones. The carousel is something different from your normal horses and is quite beautiful.
