There are 11 different types of US work visas. United States of America is a country of immigrants. People from around the world go to the United States to work on different types of US work visas. Different types of US work visas
1. L Visa: Intra- company Transferee.
The first condition to get this visa is, you have to work with current employer for at least one year continuously within the three preceding years.
This visa applies to a person who wants to work at a branch, parent, affiliate, or subsidiary of the current employer in a managerial or executive capacity.This visa is also given to a person who will work in a position requiring specialized knowledge.
2. H-1B: Person in Specialty Occupation.
To work in this category of Visa, you need to have a higher education degree or it’s equivalent. This category also includes fashion models of distinguished merit and ability.
H1b visa also provided to a person who will work on government-to-government research and development, or for a person to work on co-production projects administered by the Department of Defense. H1b Visa considered as the best among different types of US work visas.

3. H-1B1: Free Trade Agreement (FTA).
The H1B1 visa is a variant of H1b visa in the United States for the people of Chile and Singapore. H1B1 visa category was created as a result of free trade agreements signed with Chile and Singapore in 2013.
Each fiscal year 6800 visas are given to the nationals of these two countries. It is a great alternative for people of these countries. Please note, it is not a petition based visa. And you also need to have a post-secondary degree involving at least four years of study in the field of specialization.

4. H-2A: Temporary Agricultural Worker.
This is a seasonal and temporary agricultural visa. This visa type is limited to certain countries. People of those countries can take advantage of this visa type. Also this visa is given only if USCIS determined that this is in the interest of United States.
5. H-2B: Temporary Non-agricultural Worker.
This is a seasonal and temporary non-agricultural visa. This visa type is also limited to certain countries. People of those countries can take advantage of this visa type. Also this visa is given only, if USCIS determined that this is in the interest of United States.
6. H-3: Trainee or Special Education visitor.
This visa category applies to all who want to receive training, other than graduate medical or academic and that training facility is not available in the trainee’s home country. The visa category also applies to a person who wants to take practical training programs in the education of children with mental, physical, or emotional disabilities.
7. O: Individual with Extraordinary Ability or Achievement.
This category is for someone who has extra ordinary talent or achievements. Your talent can be in the field of sciences, arts, education, business, athletics, motion picture and television fields.
8.P-1: Individual or Team Athlete, or Member of an Entertainment Group.
- If you are an athlete and going to participate in a competition. You can apply this visa.
- If you are a member of an entertainment group then you can apply this visa.
- Requires an internationally recognized level of sustained performance.
- This visa also apply to a person providing essential services in support of the above individual.
9. P-2: Artist or Entertainer.
This visa is for artist or group of artist to perform under a joint exchange program between an organization in the United States and an organization in another country.
This visa is also apply to a persons providing essential services in support of the above individual. You could be an individual or part of a group.
10. P-3: Artist or Entertainer.
You may be an individual or part of a group. If you are an artist or entertainer, you may qualify for P-3 visa. You can perform, teach or coach. The program should be culturally unique or a traditional ethnic, folk, cultural, musical, theatrical, or artistic performance or presentation. This visa also apply to a person persons providing essential services in support of the above individual.
11. Q-1: Participant in an International Cultural Exchange Program.
This visa category applies to people who go to USA for practical training and employment. And for sharing of the history, culture, and traditions of your home country through participation in an international cultural exchange program.

I think it’s interesting you can get a visa for being very good at something like science or art. It’s nice to know that people with extraordinary talents are recognized. I was wondering though, how do you apply for one of those?
